Abstract

The global climate change triggered by high carbon emissions requires the higher education sector to implement sustainable energy management both through environmentally friendly energy management practices and through scientific contributions. This study aims to identify and analyze research trends related to the optimization of low carbon emission energy management in the university environment using bibliometric approaches, PRISMA and OpenKnowledge. The bibliometric method is used to map the development of publications, dominant topics, as well as collaboration between researchers in this field, PRISMA analysis for selection or selection of relevant journals while OpenKnowledge analysis is carried out to access, listen and integrate relevant journal sources in supporting sustainable energy management practices in universities. The results of this study show a significant increase in publications related to low carbon emission energy management in universities over the last 4 years, namely 2020-2023, with a focus on the use of PLN electric energy, energy efficiency and the integration of smart technology. The analysis will be carried out on the development of environmentally friendly infrastructure, optimization of energy use, and implementation of data-based monitoring systems, so this study proposes a new finding to conduct a research.
