Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to compare the clinical and radiographic outcomes of enamel matrix derivative (Emdogain®) and blood clot scaffold in regenerative endodontic treatment of non-vital immature permanent anterior teeth. Materials and Methods: twenty-six children with immature non-vital anterior teeth were randomly allocated into two equal groups (n=13). Group I received conventional blood clot regenerative treatment and Group II received Emdogain. Clinical evaluation was performed at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months, while digital periapical radiographs were assessed at the same follow-up intervals. Results: Clinical findings improved progressively in both groups, with complete resolution of the evaluated clinical signs observed by the 3-month follow-up. Radiographic assessment demonstrated a gradual reduction in PDL widening and periapical radiolucency over the follow-up period, with no evidence of root resorption in either group. No statistically significant differences were detected between the groups at any assessment point (p > 0.05). Nevertheless, both groups exhibited significant radiographic improvement over time. Conclusion: Both regenerative protocols demonstrated favorable clinical and periapical radiographic outcomes throughout the 12-month follow-up period, with no significant differences between the two groups.
