Abstract

The antenna is designed by using iterative models within the frequency range of 11-18 GHz for Ku & K band applications. Due to the compactness of the antenna, it is mainly used for communication applications. The antenna uses the combination of sierpinski fractal geometry with defected ground structures (DGS) to achieve higher gain and bandwidths. The designed antenna posses better VSWR, S11 parameters and radiation patterns compared with the normal sierpinski gasket model. The antenna is simulated with HFSS software, however, the hardware results are also presented.
