Abstract

This research sheds light on the impact of colonialism on the life of the Algerian Arab intellectual Malek Bennabi, who experienced colonialism as a child when he was a student in Algeria. Also, later as a university student and engineer in France. He considered colonialism the greatest danger ever brought by humanity against itself. Bennabi attributed the success of colonialism in the Third World countries to the ignorance that was dominant over them and the tactics used by colonialism, such as destroying social networks, fighting intellectuals and thinkers, employing traitors, and the failure of the United Nations in fulfilling its role in maintaining global peace and security, and the idea of colonial vulnerability with in the colonized peoples’ societies. The research used a historical analytical approach to examine Malek Bennabi's views on colonialism through his books.
